About Me

Dr. S.K. MEHDI is a teacher-researcher at the Faculty of Physics at the University of Science and Technology Houari  Boumediene (better known as "Bab Ezzouar University").

I am a member of the Laboratory of Nuclear Sciences and Radiation-Matter Interaction. I hold a Magister degree in Nuclear Astrophysics and a PhD in Sciences on Quantum Gases and Cold Atoms.

I have taught (lectures, tutorials and Lab Work) various modules: Atomic and Nuclear Physics, Statistical Physics, Vibrations and Waves, Programming, Probability & Statistics, Physical Protection Systems, Protection Technology, Risk Modeling & Simulation ...These courses have been given for different cycles: Bachelor's, Master's and Specialized Postgraduate.

I am a member of the scientific council of the Radiation Physics department of the Faculty of Physics and Head of the Nuclear Security Master.

Expert in Nuclear Security, I am also a member of the scientific and pedagogical council of the Nuclear Security Training and Support Center (CSN) since 2015.

  • The Faculty of Physics in partnership with the Birine Nuclear Research Center (CRNB) organized a one-week internship at the end of May 2024 for Nuclear Security Master (M1) students. This internship allowed students to visit the nuclear research center, interact with researchers, handle radioactive sources through radiation protection practicals and also through managing a crime scene by searching for lost sources (nuclear forensics). -----Group Photo-----   

  • The first International Conference on Radiation and Applications was jointly organized by the Faculty of Physics  (USTHB), the LSNIRM and LEQ laboratories, and the Algerian Physics Association, from November 20 to 23, 2017 (Algiers, Algeria). The conference was supported by DGRSDT.
    This conference allowed an exchange between scientists working on various aspects of radiation physics, improved collaboration between physicists and also promoted partnerships between universities and research centers. -----Group Photo-----
